So i have the following problem: my radiator fan sometimes won't work and i'm sure that its the connection, i'm ready to replace it but i want to keep it from failing again.
I've felt since a while ago that the shown thermoswitch isn't the one for that car, but i think that it won't go any deeper (or at least i don't want to force it)
It's actual height it's causing it to hit the "funnel-looking thingy" that connects the air filter.
I've confirmed that is the cable what it's failing, i just wanted to know if everything it's ok with the thermoswitch, because it kinda looks like it doesn't belong there.
Thank you for stopping by |

I have an '86, and it looks pretty much like mine. I think you have the right part in here, and yes, it is a thermostatic switch. My connector is failing, as well.
Does your car have A/C? On my car, this switch is wired to a big black control box just behind the glove box, which has a relay in it that turns the radiator fan on and off. My connection is intermittent, and will cause the relay to chatter (switch on and off REALLY FAST).
I think you're on the right track. You should be able to get a new connector at your local dealer.
