ok this car has the v6 in it and a newer auto trans, its not throwing any codes but trans wont shift out of first. any ideas, i have a donor car for the manual swap if you can walk me through what is needed, ive done it on a honda before but not this type, just floating ideas

no Sean it won't shift in 2nd or 3rd I don't think it's the shifter that is stuck the tranny won't shift.

MSGTRecon, govenor ? if it's the govenor it's a ezzy fix I even have one. off a V6 auto tranny.

did you try manualy shifting it from 1st to 2nd then to drive?

Sounds like the tv cable linkage isn't set right. Go to elibrary and lookup the make model and year, and look for tramission shift linkage adjustment. Login with ten numbers and a letter. The shift linkage is what controls what gear u are in when you press the accelerator
