| does anybody know how hard it is to pull the mechanisim that connects the door handle to the latch? My driver's side in my Tempo 2-door hasn't worked since the day I bought the car, despite buying a new handle for it. I was going to go pull the door pannel off that 2-door Topaz and see but my dad was rushing me to get going (plus, I didn't take the tools to remove a door pannel since over the phone they said they only had a 4-door 1990 model which is of no use to me). |

What didjya figure out, John?
My driver's side door handle mechanism has got a nylon bushing where the rod attaches to it, that nylon piece has served its life and is now no longer in existence (at least not in a usable state) but every time I remove the panel and look at it, I tell myself the easiest thing to do would be to remove the door handle mechanism itself. (The HELP section has a blister-pack of nylon bushings and it looks like one of those may work.)
But, the handle looks to be riveted on, I'd have to drill those out or grind off the heads or sumthin', and I guess I'd need to bolt it back on. Not something I'm looking forward to doing.
I'm just wondering if you've found anything helpful in this area........ |
